As Fred P Mannix, past President of Polo Canada and founder of Alegria Polo, says, it has been an epic year for Canada in polo.

Alegria’s 37 goal team captained by Canada’s Fred Mannix Jr made it to the semi-finals of the Argentine Open, the world’s most prestigious polo tournament which was won on Saturday by La Dolfina’s 40 goal team captained by Adolpho Cambiaso.

Alegria’s 26 goal team captained by Canada’s Julian Mannix won the prestigious Camera Disputados, the most important polo tournament other than the Open.

Fred Mannix Sr and his wife Li-Anne and daughter Vanessa as well as members of the Calgary, Grand Prairie, Toronto and Club Polo Nacional (Montréal) polo clubs were there to cheer on Alegria.

Fred Mannix Jr was also appointed a Canadian Ambassador to the Federation of International Polo, one of only three new appointments to FIP worldwide.
